Dr. Khamooshian, who is board certified in internal medicine, has worked
in diverse medical and research fields over the years. He received his
medical degree from Kermanshah Medical School in Iran and he has provided
UNHCR humanitarian medical services for refugees in Turkey.
Next, Dr. Khammoshian worked as a research assistant in the department
of cardiology at UCSD and completed his internal medicine residency at
UCLA-Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield, CA.
He has worked as a primary care physician and hospitalist over the last
few years in San Diego. He has a particular interest in educating people
about the importance of healthy lifestyles, including the academic research
on the nutrional and therapeutic values of different fruits and vegetables.
Before relocating to the United States, he worked as an emergency physician
at the Iranian Mo'aaven General Hospital and then the Marivan General
Hospital, treating an underserved population in the mountainous area of
Kuristan, on the border of Iran and Iraq. He treated trauma, poisoning,
gunshot wounds and other ailments with limited diagnostic technologies.
