For more than 20 years, we have specialized in weight-loss procedures and long-term patient management to help our patients take

control of their weight and regain their health. The team that pioneered and performed the very first laparoscopic gastric bypass in the world did so at Alvarado Hospital. Alvarado has also led the nation as a model for bariatric nursing and surgical innovation and more than 100 surgeons, nurses and hospital administrators have received bariatric training at Alvarado Hospital. Alvarado also was one of the first sites in the nation to perform the new StomaphyX incisionless revision surgery.

With a highly trained team of surgeons, nurses, nutritionists and exercise therapists, the Alvarado Surgical Weight-Loss Program provides patients with a weight-loss operation, comprehensive pre- and post-operative education and long-term aftercare. The Alvarado Surgical Weight-Loss Program is a comprehensive, multidisciplinary, hospital-based program that provides the following services:
