Alvarado Hospital Medical Center provides the technology and facilities to support an extensive range of surgical specialties, including general, vascular, thoracic, orthopedic, neurologic, urologic, gynecologic, ophthalmic, and ear/nose/throat surgery. Thanks to advances in medical technology, many procedures can now be performed on an outpatient basis. Alvarado Hospital offers the latest equipment for minimally invasive surgery designed to return patients home as quickly as possible. Those surgeries not requiring an overnight stay may be performed at the new Physicians Surgery Center at Alvarado.

 

Vascular disease management is evolving at a rapid pace. Innovative approaches, which rely on non-invasive vascular imaging and endovascular techniques provide patients with new and potentially less invasive treatment options. These include aneurysm stent grafting, clot dissolution, angioplasty, stenting, radiofrequency vein ablation and sclerotherpy.

The nationally renowned Alvarado Surgical Weight-Loss Program treats patients struggling with severe obesity. Surgical weight-loss options include gastric bypass and banding, as well as the new, minmally invasive, outpatient procedure, called Stomaphyx, which reapairs to the pouch of former gastric bypass patients who have regained weight.
