Inpatient Services
Our rehabilitation services benefit patients having difficulty with self-care activities, mobility, safety, speech, swallowing, cognition and psychosocial adjustments as a result of a disabling illness, injury or degenerative disease. Typical diagnoses include brain injury, stroke, complicated orthopedic conditions, neurological disorders, spinal cord injury, burns, amputation and neuropathy.
Our certified 30-bed acute rehabilitation unit provides 24-hour, seven-days-a-week rehab nursing care, and intensive therapy before returning home or to an assisted-living facility. We are committed to helping you regain as much function as possible after an injury or illness, maximizing your independence, and assisting with re-entry into the community. Team members provide training and education for patients and their families throughout treatment.

Therapeutic Recreation Services
Therapeutic recreation serves as an integral part of the acute rehabilitation inpatient treatment. The recreation therapist uses the patient's leisure and recreational interests, along with input from the treatment team, to formulate goals for therapy, provide education to transition back home and provide recreational opportunities while in the hospital.
Treatment sessions are either in an individual or group setting, and may be combined with another discipline. Recreation sessions are designed to improve the overall well being of the patient and promote healing during the recovery phase of rehabilitation.
The recreation therapist serves as an educator and advisor in addressing issues related to the patient's adjustment and return back to home and community. The Stroke Peer Visitor Program and the Caregiver Wellness Circle offer support to both the patient and family members. Trips to the gift shop, coffee cart and occasional off-site locations are used to simulate and address community re-entry skills.
