Welcome to Alvarado Hospital Medical Center as we celebrate our 40th year as your community hospital. In addition to our 306-bed general acute hospital, we also operate the renowned Advanced Spine Institute & Minimally Invasive Spine Center and the well-respected regional San Diego Rehabilitation Institute.

 

Our vision is to provide you with outstanding medical care, leading-edge technology and highly personalized service. Our medical staff features many world-class physicians who are easily accessible. We also continually strive to provide personalized attention through everyone involved in your stay—from the physicians and nurses to our food service and housekeeping staff.

 

Alvarado’s more than 400 physicians, 850 employees and 300 volunteers dedicate ourselves to treating each patient as a valued guest. We also are proud to offer a number of comprehensive medical services and specialties, which include general surgery, dedicated emergency department, MRI, a full laboratory and imaging services, cardiac services, neuroscience, orthopedics, oncology, sexual medicine, skull-base surgery, sports medicine, vascular services and surgical weight reduction. In 2010, Alvarado Hospital became part of Prime Healthcare Services, which owns and/operates 17 hospitals across the United States. Most recently, Prime was recognized as one of the top 15 health systems in the United States and the only health system in the top 15 in California.
