Alvarado Hospital’s rating on the Medicare Hospital Compare website
has recently been raised from three to five stars in both inpatient and
outpatient care categories. Hospital Compare (https://medicare.gov/hospitalcompare/search.html)
is designed to help consumers make decisions about which hospital to choose
for their care based on a five-star rating system. Over 4,000 Medicare-certified
hospitals across the nation, including 130 Veterans Administration medical
centers, are rated on this site. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid
Services (CMS) created Hospital Compare with consumer organizations, hospitals,
doctors, employers, accrediting organizations, and other or federal agencies.
“It is a direct reflection of the hard work put into patient care
by our Physicians and staff!” says Robin Gomez, CEO of Alvarado
Hospital. “Overall, CMS scores every hospital on 64 separate criteria;
the fact that we reached a five-star rating says so much about the high
quality care we provide at Alvarado. The highest rated quality care delivered
in a family atmosphere is what Alvarado Hospital is all about.”
