Robin Gomez, RN, BSN, MSN,
serves as CEO of Alvarado Hospital. In this role, she oversees the strategic direction, operations and physician
relations, as well as maintains overall leadership responsibility for
the hospital and key programs. She has more than 20 years of diverse healthcare
experience with progressive management positions, including most recently
as vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer at
Loma Linda University Medical Center in Murrieta. Prior to that, Robin
was the chief nursing officer at Paradise Valley Hospital in National
City, Alvarado’s sister facility.
Robin has a strong background in implementing effective, high-quality healthcare combined with service excellence. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Loma Linda University and a master’s degree in nursing administration from Norwich University in Vermont. Larry Emdur is the Chief Medical Officer and a board-certified internist/pulmonologist. He completed his training
in medicine and pulmonary at the Cleveland Clinic in 1984 and has practiced
both hospital-based and office-based pulmonary medicine in San Diego since then.
He holds a PhD in microbiology from the University of Pittsburgh, an MBA from California State University and has received advanced training from The American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. He also is a clinical faculty member at Western University of Health Science in California where he teaches medical students. Read More
Chief Nursing Officer Sacha Ridgway, BSRN, MHA, CPHQ, is an Alvarado Hospital home grown talent. She holds two bachelor’s
degrees, one in management information systems from Arkansas State University,
and another degree in nursing from California State University San Marcos.
After starting her career at Alvarado Hospital as a nurse in the telemetry
unit, where she worked for a few years, she became the director of Performance
Improvement after completing a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration
with a certification in Healthcare Quality from the University of St.
Francis. Her passion within healthcare revolves around effectively pulling
multidisciplinary teams together to drive quality and patient safety efforts.
She has been instrumental in creating change throughout the organization
and driving improvement projects that led Alvarado to be recognized as
a 5-star hospital by CMS/Hospital Compare, and multiple quality and safety
awards from Healthgrades and The Leapfrog Group.
Before coming back to Alvarado Hospital in 2007, she worked at St. Vincent Medical Center in Los Angeles, as well as a handful of hospitals within the Tenet Healthcare organization both in California and Texas. She received her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Phoenix. Her goal as CFO is to help the hospital grow financially, so it can continue to provide excellent medical care to the members of the community. |
Sara Turner is the Regional Director of Human Resources. In this role, she is responsible for the entire HR function, including recruitment, retention, compensation administration and employee relations. She has more than 16 years of progressive management experience and has been with Alvarado Hospital for 11 of those years. Her goal as HR director is to develop and foster working relationships with management and employees at all levels and maintain a positive employee relations climate.
