Meet the Executive Team

At Alvarado Hospital and Prime Healthcare Services, we have a diverse management team that brings years of experience, expertise, and dedication to meeting the healthcare needs of our community. Said leadership ensures that patients will receive superior care at Alvarado Hospital.

Robin Gomez, RN, BSN, MSNRobin Gomez, RN, BSN, MSN, serves as CEO of Alvarado Hospital. In this role, she oversees the strategic direction, operations and physician relations, as well as maintains overall leadership responsibility for the hospital and key programs. She has more than 20 years of diverse healthcare experience with progressive management positions, including most recently as vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Murrieta. Prior to that, Robin was the chief nursing officer at Paradise Valley Hospital in National City, Alvarado’s sister facility.

Robin has a strong background in implementing effective, high-quality healthcare combined with service excellence. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Loma Linda University and a master’s degree in nursing administration from Norwich University in Vermont. Larry Emdur, Chief Medical OfficerLarry Emdur is the Chief Medical Officer and a board-certified internist/pulmonologist. He completed his training in medicine and pulmonary at the Cleveland Clinic in 1984 and has practiced both hospital-based and office-based pulmonary medicine in San Diego since then.

He holds a PhD in microbiology from the University of Pittsburgh, an MBA from California State University and has received advanced training from The American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. He also is a clinical faculty member at Western University of Health Science in California where he teaches medical students. Read More

Peggy Jezsu, RN, BSN, MHA

Peggy Jezsu, RN, BSN, MHA, is the Chief Nursing Officer at Alvarado Hospital. Having served in various management positions at the hospital since 2006, Peggy has more than 33 years of nursing leadership and clinical experience. Her responsibilities include oversight of more than 300 nurses, nursing and clinical operations, clinical education, Food and Nutrition Services, Respiratory Therapy, Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy and overall patient care and safety.

Her goal as the CNO is to strengthen collaborative relationships with physicians, the nursing management team and the nursing staff, as well as ancillary hospital staff Peggy received her Associates degree in nursing from Grossmont College, Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and Master’s of Health Administration from the University of Phoenix.

Marilyn Sharp, Chief Financial OfficerMarilyn Sharp serves as Alvarado Hospital's Chief Financial Officer. Marilyn has more than 20 years of hospital finance experience, mostly recently as Alvarado Hospital controller. She manages the financial departments and produces all financial statements.

Before coming back to Alvarado Hospital in 2007, she worked at St. Vincent Medical Center in Los Angeles, as well as a handful of hospitals within the Tenet Healthcare organization both in California and Texas. She received her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Phoenix. Her goal as CFO is to help the hospital grow financially, so it can continue to provide excellent medical care to the members of the community.

Sara Turner, Regional Director of Human Resources

Sara Turner is the Regional Director of Human Resources. In this role, she is responsible for the entire HR function, including recruitment, retention, compensation administration and employee relations. She has more than 16 years of progressive management experience and has been with Alvarado Hospital for 11 of those years. Her goal as HR director is to develop and foster working relationships with management and employees at all levels and maintain a positive employee relations climate.
