Alvarado Hospital Stroke Survivors Trim Christmas Trees for Recent Hospitalized Stroke Patients

Alvarado Hospital and the hospital's “Comebacker’s Neuro Club hosted their annual “Project Trim-a-Tree” on Dec. 11 to bring holiday cheer to hospitalized survivors of a recent a stroke or traumatic brain injuries. The Comebacker’s Neuro Club is for survivors of stroke and traumatic brain injury and advocates for stroke awareness and community support.

The Comebacker's Club members trimmed small Christmas trees and then hand-delivered the trees to the recent survivors who will be hsopitalized over the holiday.

Stroke is the third-leading cause of death in this country and the leading cause of serious, long-term adult disability. Supported by Alvarado Hospital, Alvarado Hospital Comebacker’s Neuro Club provides ongoing education, support and recreational activities for survivors at any stage of recovery from a stroke, traumatic brain injury or other neurological impairment. The club supports survivors treated at all area hospitals.
